Simple and easy to use.
Heartland Medical Distribution's wound program is prescribed by your primary care doctor for treating diabetic and chronic wounds older than 30 days. The program is designed for treatment in the patient's home while being monitored in the clinic.
The patient makes an appointment with his or her primary care doctor. The patient is seen in the clinic where the wound is evaluated, documented, and reported via the Heartland Medical Distribution web-based data system.
The patient then follows the daily protocol of treatment in his or her home for 30 days while being monitored on a weekly basis at the clinic as the wound begins its normal healing process. After the first 30 days of treatment, the patient is seen every two weeks in the clinic for monitoring and wound measurement and documentation.
Wound reports are produced each 30 day period of treatment and reviewed for compliance, wound healing progression, and billing.
